About the chapter

A student-led space for signal processing at UF.

IEEE SPS @ UF exists to make signal processing easier to enter and more exciting to practice. The chapter bridges coursework, research, and public technical community with programming that is serious about content and generous about access.

Mission

Technical depth without gatekeeping

The chapter designs programming around the idea that fundamentals should be taught clearly, tools should feel usable after the event is over, and motivated students should have visible ways to contribute.

The aim is not only to host events. It is to build an environment where students can learn fast, ask better questions, and move into meaningful technical work.
What members can expect
  • Hands-on workshops that connect theory to demos, notebooks, or experiments.
  • Project-facing programming that makes chapter work visible and concrete.
  • Communication channels that keep new members connected between events.
  • A chapter tone that values rigor, curiosity, and generosity.
